Pearl City High School Students “Charge Out Meth” with the Hawaii Meth Project

The Pearl City High School Peer Education Students rallied their peers this week to “Charge Out Meth.” Students partnered with the Hawaii Meth Project to host a school-wide assembly to raise awareness about the Meth Project’s “Not Even Once” message and empower them to become active advocates of the campaign. The event included a morning sign waving by students in front of the school along with a lunch rally with entertainment provided by the Power 104.3 radio crew and a representative from the Hawaii Army National Guard. Students could also sign a pledge to live a meth-free lifestyle.

Proceeds raised by the Great Chefs® will benefit the Hawaii Foodbank to help feed 183,500 islanders in need statewide including 55,050 children and 11,010 elderly.

Pacific Links Hawai‘i Foundation Gifts $100,000 to Local Non-Profits

The Pacific Links Hawai‘i Foundation teed-up on Friday to help local communities prosper by presenting financial gifts totaling $100,000 to Ka‘ala Farm, University of Hawai‘i, West O‘ahu, Kapolei Community Development Corporation, Mālama Learning Center and Kupu.

The Pacific Links Hawai‘i Foundation was established in 2012 to foster environmentally responsible practices for land management, preserve Hawaiian culture and create opportunities for keiki, with a focus on neighborhoods adjacent to Pacific Links Hawai‘i assets.

The $100,000 gift is a direct benefit of last year’s Pacific Links Hawai‘i Championship, an official PGA Champions Tour event featuring the top Champions Tour players and week-long events at Pacific Links Hawai‘i’s Kapolei Golf Club.
