Salt Lake-Moanalua Library will Celebrate its 20th Anniversary

Salt Lake-Moanalua Public Library, located at 3225 Salt Lake Boulevard, will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with a dramatic lion dance, special Hawaiian music and performances, and fish artwork for keiki on Wednesday, August 29 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  The public is invited to attend this free event.

Salt Lake-Moanalua Public Library opened on August 29, 1992.  The current two-story building replaced the original store-front library (1984 – 1992) in the Salt Lake Shopping Center.

Entertainment will include performances by the ukulele strumming Salt Lake Seniors, student dancers from Halau Na Maka o’ka Laua`e, and amazing acrobatics by the Wai Ngai Lion Dance Association.  Artist Allen Tsukamoto will present his popular “Fish Doodles” artwork program for keiki throughout the celebration.

In addition, legislators and other distinguished guests will present congratulatory messages.  Light refreshments will be served; will supplies last.

The Friends of Salt Lake-Moanalua Public Library is sponsoring this special Anniversary celebration.  Contact the Library two weeks in advance if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
