November keeps up its reputation as more rain, wind on the way
They say "third time is the charm" but to those hoping to be out and about this weekend, I'm not sure "charm" is the right word ....
But nonetheless, a third storm of the week packing strong winds and heavy rain is heading for the Pacific Northwest, due in Saturday night and Sunday.
Once again, High Wind Warnings are in effect for the coast and Northwest Interior from 9 p.m. Saturday through 9 a.m. Sunday for winds of 30-40 mph with potential gusts to 60 mph. (In other words, about the same as the past two storms).
In the greater Puget Sound area, we're looking at routine gusts to 25-40 mph overnight.
A period of heavy rain is coming along for the ride, with the northern corner of the state taking the brunt of it. A Flood Watch remains in effect for rivers in Whatcom (Nooksack) and Snohomish County (Stillaguamish), as well as essentially the Skokomish River in Mason County.
Forecast models are on the fence whether we'll actually get enough rain to cause flooding, but the Flood Watch is up as an advisory just in case. Any flooding would be minor.
